Our Training

Running on Monday and Thursday evenings in central Bath, BAMT is uniquely designed for students aged 15-25 years old looking to get an edge with their musical theatre performance skills - whilst still continuing with their daytime studies at college/school or employment.

Students are given extensive individual attention and for 6-7 hours a week receive focussed training from experienced performing arts lecturers and practitioners. It is one of the only courses in the area to give equal weight to all three disciplines - with time being split equally between singing, dancing and acting.

Entry onto the course, which runs for 30 weeks in line with the academic year from September to June, is by audition only - with the minimum age requirement being 15 years old.

Our aim is to give students an introduction into the skills, commitment and hard work required in full-time training establishments - allowing talent to flourish and enable them to #takethenextstep.

PLEASE NOTE THAT STUDENTS OFTEN SPEND 2-3 YEARS TRAINING WITH US BEFORE HEADING TO DRAMA SCHOOL...

Weekly Timetable

• Jazz, Streetdance & Commercial - technique, stretch and strengthening, centre work & flexibility
• Routine work - audition preparation

Students can be supported by BAMT tutors should they wish to take grade 6-8 Musical Theatre exams (eg Trinity College London) to achieve UCAS points.

Visiting Tutors - we realise the importance of training with the best possible tutors, so we have regular masterclasses with top actors, directors and musicians - including Esme Bowdler, Erin Caldwell, Olivia Moore, Alice Fearn, Kerry Ellis, Hadley Fraser, Louise Dearman, Clive Rowe, Michael Jibson, David Ashley, Caroline Sheen, Julie Atherton, Oliver Tompsett, Rosalie Craig, Jodie Steele, George Stiles, Craig Adams, Louise Plowright, Helena Blackman, Neil Ditt, Natalie Andreou, Gregory Haney, Brianna Ogunbawo & Helen Colby.

We also invite tutors from top drama schools such as ArtsEd and ICMT to lead dance/acting through song sessions with our students.
